Jon Luc ”JL” Hefferman is a multi-instrumentalist composer, producer, and music educator from Portland Oregon releasing music under the monikers Eugene Hatman (folk, grunge, pop-punk) and Bill Quadrillion (self-sampling hyperpop, hyperfolk...hyper anything really). While the musical stylings of these artists seem to occupy contradictory sonic spaces at first glance, the two are deeply interwoven into a rich and deeply self-reflective story that is meant to unfold over as lifetime. With these two projects, Jon Luc explores the existential questions that overwhelm the minds of modern musicians who seek to create a sense of organic authenticity among a constantly shifting landscape of maximalist technological acceleration. Through his music, Jon Luc intends to invigorate Portland’s musical ecosystem with fruitful collaboration, existential catharsis, and endlessly playful zest. When he’s not trying to figure out how to make all of this happen, JL can be found performing with local groups such as Juliet and the East, LDY BTTRFLY, Blotter Boyz and Julia Logue.
